Half-god coder Alex "Statix" Evans finally wrote a win32 port of the 1997 demo Square by Pulse International. Watch it, it's an all time classic! For those interrested, Statix released the source code too... but please keep in mind that this production do not use any hardware acceleration (it actually runs in 256 colors mode) and that it contains quite a lot of assembly language code (yes it used to run smoothly on a Pentium 200), most pictures were also pixel-drawn in 8-bpp mode. Big respect to Statix for this port, I'm just gonna watch it again before sleeping... Oh and the funny thing is that it contains code (not music) written by dune/orange (aka brothomstates on Warp Records). This is certainly one of the masterpiece of the mid-school PC demoscene.
